Challenge
Gursha faced a significant turning point: transitioning from a traditional brick-and-mortar restaurant to a high-end private catering and chef service. The owner, Helen, needed more than just a website; she needed a digital infrastructure that could communicate the premium nature of her services while streamlining the new operational model. The primary hurdle was translating the sensory, physical experience of Ethiopian dining into a digital format that could capture leads and educate a new audience. That's when I started developing a high-impact visual identity and a custom "digital look-book" website. By blending cultural storytelling with strategic growth design, I helped transition operations into a scalable, culturally relevant & respectful catering model.
Nowadays, I handle recurring brand related graphic design for online and physical media (banners, flyers, flags, announcements, social media).
Approach
Cultural Immersion meets Business Strategy
My process began with deep-diving into the unique value proposition of Gursha; hospitality and cultural education. I identified that for a catering business, the website shouldn't just be a menu; it needs to be an emotional "look-book." I worked closely with Helen to map out the customer journey, from the first spark of interest to the final booking. We focused on a "visual-first" strategy to make the vibrant Ethiopian cuisine the hero of the brand.
